Safety & service standards

More than a ride.
A responsibility.

When someone trusts PointStead with their transportation, we take responsibility for the preparation, assistance, communication and care surrounding the entire trip.

Our operating promise

No trip with an unsafe vehicle, an unqualified driver or an unsecured passenger or mobility device.

PointStead provides non-emergency transportation—not ambulance care or clinical treatment. Within that role, we hold ourselves to a careful, documented standard before, during and after every trip.

01

Screened and qualified drivers

Driver eligibility includes the required background study, driving-record review, valid licensing, medical qualification and ongoing review. A driver does not serve passengers if a required qualification has lapsed.

02

Passenger-assistance training

Training covers respectful communication, passenger assistance, lift and ramp operation, wheelchair securement, stretcher assistance and safe transfers appropriate to the service provided.

03

Safety and emergency readiness

Drivers complete required first aid, defensive-driving, abuse-prevention, emergency and fire-response training, along with behind-the-wheel evaluation and role-specific orientation.

04

Insured and inspected operations

Service is provided only with required commercial insurance and Minnesota operating compliance in force. Vehicles must carry required inspection and approval status before transporting passengers.

05

Vehicle readiness every day

Daily pre-trip checks, required safety equipment, sanitation procedures, maintenance records and out-of-service rules help ensure the vehicle is ready before the first pickup.

06

Documented accountability

Trip events, inspections, training, qualifications, maintenance, incidents and complaints are documented so issues can be addressed and standards can improve over time.

More than transportation

Service begins before the vehicle arrives.

We prepare for the passenger’s mobility needs, communicate with families and care teams, arrive professionally, assist patiently, secure equipment carefully and complete a respectful handoff at the destination.

That is the difference between simply moving someone and serving them well.
